On a side note:

"No More Dirty Looks" is a new book that explains in great detail what the heck is hiding in your favorite main stream body washes, shampoos, face creams, mascaras and nail polishes... invading your beautiful bod's via those tiny breathing holes in our skin, aka pores.

Aaaah, I wish I had known all of this many many more years ago.

I discovered green beauty products about five years ago via La Linea Bella and via my new Paleo lifestyle, induced by all sorts of nasty autoimmune reactions I was having to the American food pyramid (and stress).

Admittedly, it takes a while to let go of those beloved drugstore or luxe cosmetics that we have accumulated over the years, sold to us by famous actresses or beauty gurus. Silky hair, ageless/poreless skin, mega long lashes, you name it, we've been promised it all by some impressive companies with ginormous advertising budgets.

"What are Parabens anyway?" and "It's just all just a hype anyway, right?"

Well, those little pores in your skin are hungry little beasts, waiting to absorb anything they can get their little lips on to produce more new healthy cells to keep you glowing, healthy and young.

Give them junk food, and you'll see the results, both in your health and your appearance.

Anything you put on your skin is absorbed and goes directly into your bloodstream without any filter (aka liver) and they can cause endochrine disruptions, hormone imbalances, heck, they can cause all sorts of toxic reactions in our bodies that........

The point is:

Think about what you put on your skin because your body will use it as food.

If you would not eat it (and that's a whole other topic...), don't put it on your skin.

If you are making the switch, it's okay to do it slowly.

It takes a bit of trial and error to find your favorites again, but there are so many fabulous sources out there, you JUST CANNOT go wrong!

which is why it took me a while to purchase my perfect shade, which is Gwyneth Paltrow's shade: golden tan.

Medium coverage (honestly, for me it's almost full), sets to a satin finish, lasts all day and does not travel all over your face. GF, organic. I use the Jane Iredale Smooth Affair primer with it because I love the smell of it, but Juice Beauty's foundation also comes with a matching illuminating, antioxidant packed primer if you would like to keep things in the same family.

Does not have any sun protection, but if you follow with one of Jane Iredale's sun protective mineral powders, you'll be set for the day!

Okay, this is just a small percentage of my favorite mascaras: some of these are only halfway organic, but they do not have any harmful ingredients and have not been tested on any of our little fur friends.

Tarte's Light, Camera, Lashes is fantastic and lengthens your lashes out the window.
